Devastating Strike by Robert Taylor
by Robert Taylor
A DRAMATIC TRIBUTE TO THE MEN WHO FLEW THE De HAVILLAND MOSQUITO
It was less glamorous than the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain and wasn’t seen as the backbone of Bomber Command yet the
de Havilland Mosquito can arguably claim to be the RAF's ‘greatest’
aircraft of WWII.
This dramatic tribute depicts Mosquito Mk.VIs from 143 Squadron, part of the famous Banff Strike Wing, delivering a blistering strike on a pair of large enemy ships off the Norwegian coast in early 1945. Their salvo of rockets, however, will likely be enough to penetrate the ships’ hulls.
